Ray-Harris Company Enjoying Brisk Sales of Homes in Fox Lair, a Neighborhood Built Exclusively with Donald Gardner Home Plans

Fox Lair, a single builder development located about 15 minutes from Louisville, Kentucky, is a spectacular bedroom community which affords its residents large lot sizes and tremendous country charm just minutes away from all of the conveniences of the big city. Most of the Fox Lair residents commute to Louisville for employment. To date, Fox Lair has attracted a wide range of home buyers; younger families, professional couples and retirees.

William Ray, founder and co-president of Ray Harris Company, is a graduate of Western Kentucky University. William began William Ray Homes, LLC in 2001. Before founding his own company, William worked for one of the top building companies in Atlanta, Georgia. This company received numerous national honors and awards.

William Harris, co-president of Ray Harris Company, is a graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. William received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance. After graduating in May of 2004, William began working with William Ray Homes, LLC. In 2007, it was mutually decided to change the name of the company to The Ray Harris Company.

Both William Ray and Will Harris are drawn to Donald Gardner home plans because of the strong Southern emphasis and attention to the small architectural details that add so much curb appeal to the finished home. Fox Lair contains a mixture of spec homes and custom homes. The builder has made a commitment to all homeowners that no home in Fox Lair will be duplicated. This is done to preserve the distinctiveness of the development and the uniqueness of each home. Fox Lair homeowners love knowing that they will have an “exclusive” home.

Prior to development Fox Lair was a 118 acre horse farm that consisted of gently rolling hills, a large barn with over ten stalls and a well-kept residence boasting strong English Tudor architectural design. This 4000 square-foot home also featured a large sunken English garden. This home - along with approximately 2.5 acres - was the first to be sold in Fox Lair. The style of the original home inspired the name of the subdivision as well as the street names. Tally Ho Court, Strike Hound Court, Scarlett Court, and Fox Lair Boulevard all derive from words commonly used during an English Fox Hunt. The new Donald Gardner homes blend very nicely with the existing English Tudor home.

Phase one of the development, which has 28 home sites of at least one acre in size, is almost sold out. The infrastructure of phase two is scheduled to begin late summer 2009 and will be open for lot sales and the construction of homes in early 2010. When completed, Fox Lair will consist of approximately 70 home sites, with each lot being at least one acre and with 70 different Don Gardner home plans.

Theresa Weed of Semonin Realtors, Ray Harris Company’s sales representative for Fox Lair, praises the wide variety of floor plans, large covered front porches, and bedroom sizes as features that have all been embraced by buyers. She says customers also like the fact that common rooms such as the great room and kitchen are easily accessible from the private rooms of each house and that the large breakfast nooks and plentiful windows are huge selling features as well.

“Ray Harris Company does an excellent job of executing each Donald Gardner home plan,” said Theresa. “Both Mr. Ray and Mr. Harris understand that they are building, from the dirt up, the single most important investment a person or family will make in their lifetime, the purchase of a home. This is a job that they do not take lightly. They work extremely hard to ensure that each homeowner will be satisfied.”

Theresa fully utilizes all that the Donald Gardner website has to offer to help her sell new homes in Fox Lair. “The Don Gardner website has played an integral role in the marketing of Fox Lair,” she said. “It’s professional, very user friendly, and is by far the most comprehensive website for a potential home buyer to utilize. We usually have the Don Gardner home page up and running when clients walk through the model home, and if they want to browse for a plan they are able to do so.”

Theresa Weed also includes information about Donald Gardner plans in her marketing materials for Fox Lair and on her website.
