Conceptual House Plan 1467

Leave us your feedback and suggestions at the bottom of this post!
Conceptual Design 1467 is an update of house plan 1218-D, The Whitcomb. Design 1467 features an angled, courtyard-entry garage. The exterior is eye-catching, with a combination of vertical and horizontal siding with stone accents. The two-car garage offers storage and enters the home through a mud room with bench seating and closets for hanging coats and bags. The pantry is just steps away, perfect for dropping off dry goods as you make your way to the kitchen. A massive kitchen island simplifies meal prep and overlooks the great room and dining. Take living outdoors to the rear porch or screened porch with bay windows providing 180 degree views. The master suite is a treat for homeowners with private access to the rear porch, a dramatic tray ceiling and a bayed window offering excellent views. The master bathroom has an over-sized walk-in shower and couples with enjoy the double-sink vanity. A pocket door opens to an expansive walk-in closet with a folding table and drawers below. The highlight is private access from the master closet to the utility room. A second door opens to the common spaces for convenience.

First floor of conceptual house plan 1467.

The basement level includes a recreation room with a built-in media cabinet and french doors that open to a rear patio and spa. Two bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet share a full bathroom with a double sink vanity and walk-in shower. Second floor of conceptual house plan 1467.

Hi Denise! No, we have not selected this conceptual design for completion at this time. You can request modifications to The Whitcomb to angle the garage. That would be a much quicker option!

Hiya! Has this plan moved past being conceptual to being its own full blown plan? It's a beautiful plan and it's at the top of our list for our build next year.

Been looking at this plan for a few months now and believe it would be perfect to build on my lake lot. Would love to see the following changes 1) sq off wall in master bed and bedroom below and do a cathedral ceiling in the master 2) this house needs some sort of home office even if it’s a 10 x 10 room above the garage would love to see the secondary door up front used as a dedicated entrance up to a office about the garage 3) do away with the complicated roof line along the back as well as the covered porch in favor of just a deck on back; turn the vault in the great room the other way to encompass the dining room as well 4) throw a outdoor kitchen on the fireplace wall along the screen porch and I believe we will have a winner

New update would love to see the kitchen and dining rooms swapped, making the floorplan more similar to conceptual plan 1523 with both rooms vaulted all the way across.

Absolutely love the plan! We're planning on building on a lot that has an awesome front view as well as the back of the house. I would love to have an office space on the front left of the house with a 3/4 bath as well, and only because of my personal property. Also would like it to be about 1900 square feet on main, and only because of our personal lay of land, I need a straight garage instead of angled. Thanks for the awesome plan!

Great layout. Currently evaluating walk out plans to build for retirement. Wife will require tub and I would like small study/retreat at 100 sf +/-. Almost perfect size.

I would love to see a whirlpool bathtub in the master bathroom, even if it means reducing the closet space.

The first floor of this house is perfect in so many way! Room sizes, flow are just right. The utility, mudroon, master bath are spot on for how people actually live. Do you have any plans to create a similar plan with a second story instead of a finished walkout lower for those of us building on sites that would not work for this kind of walkout plan? A layout like this with 2 bedrooms up & bonus over garage would be a real winner !

I love so many things here... The location of the powder room... not near the garage area so no muddy footprints through which to navigate The location of the screened porch... it does not block great room views The location of the laundry room... near the master bathroom, and large enough not to get pinned to a wall when emptying the dryer The location of the pantry... near the service entry of the house but not far from the kitchen The built in bench with window for putting on shoes The giant kitchen island... LOVE IT The open yet distinct room feel ( ceiling details to help define space) The kitchen sink's location with a window view of the front yard. Rear porch, hopefully with very high opening as not to block light The master closet's unique yet functional space The giant shower in the ensuite Large secondary bedrooms Windows in stairwell Single dining area Made for rear views... Only downside: no soaker tub.

Y'all need to stop making improvements! I already have a longggg list of DAG favorites (including the Whitcomb) and now you go and make it even better!! I'm not usually a fan of the angled garages, etc., but I love the additional space that you've added here. Thanks for the many hours of fun you've provided while I dream of my "perfect" house!
