Conceptual Design 1628 is an updated version of The Sloan house plan 1528. This European house plan features a hip roof with sloped gables and decorative brackets. The façade is a mix of stone, cedar shakes, and board-and-batten while tapered columns frame the front porch.

Inside, double doors open to a foyer defined by an archway and columns. An adjacent powder room and coat closet are convenient for guests. The great room enjoys a coffered ceiling and a fireplace. Outdoor living is abundant with a screened porch with a fireplace and skylights and an open rear porch with a continuation of skylights. The kitchen centers around an island with bar seating and a window looks out to the backyard. Nearby, find a spacious dining room and a walk-in pantry.

The master bedroom is a treat with a vaulted ceiling and access to the rear porch. In the master bathroom, find a double vanity, walk-in shower, freestanding bathtub, and an adjoining walk-in closet. On the opposite side of the floor plan, two additional bedrooms share a full bathroom with a dual vanity.

The two-car garage offers a storage bay and access to a side porch. Just inside the home, a drop zone with a bench and built-in cubbies is available to keep mail, coats, bags, and shoes organized and out of living spaces. The utility room is just steps away with built-in cabinetry, a laundry sink, and side-porch access. Upstairs, an optional bonus room and full bathroom await a future expansion.

I really like this plan. I like the back entrance to the outside and the placement of the screened-in porch. This house has a great family vibe to it.

I like this one a lot — combines the best features of the modern farmhouse layout with a much more nuanced and interesting exterior. I would love a larger kitchen (say 16 x 19) and corresponding larger dining room and the outer wall of the kitchen having windows along the wall instead of just over the sink. I will look forward to the completion of this one!

For all of the backyard entertaining people do now from pools, outdoor kitchens, fire pits etc. and a lot of dog owners out there that are also practical, where is the back entrance? Would be nice to have a back mud room to bring in the wet dog from the rain or snow or to have a powder room in the back of the house for guests to use, or wet children to come in from the pool without having to traipse through the middle of my beautiful kitchen or great room.

Wow! This one is excellent. I love almost everything about it. The masonry touches on the outside are a big plus. If I could change anything, I would add a coffee bar between the dining room and great room, and a closet option for the upstairs bonus room. I love that the bonus room already has a bathroom option. I would also add an outdoor kitchen. I love the roomy laundry room, but I would prefer that the dryer be on an outside wall and that space for a freezer be drawn into the laundry room plan. I am going to keep my eye out for the completion of this plan. I like it!
