Conceptual Design 1630 is a contemporary house plan with a low pitch roof line. The stone and shake exterior is complemented by large glass doors and windows. Double columns frame the front porch entry.

The foyer features an adjoining powder room and coat closet. The open great room enjoys a coffered ceiling and a fireplace while a rear porch with skylights invites outdoor relaxation. An island enhances the kitchen, and the dining room is spacious to accommodate family meals.

The master suite is at the back of the home with a vaulted ceiling and access to the rear porch. Skylights top the thoughtfully designed master bathroom with a dual vanity, a freestanding bathtub, a walk-in shower, and an attached walk-in closet. Two additional bedrooms and an office/bedroom are across the floor plan with two full bathrooms.

The three-car garage offers a storage bay and direct access to the side porch. A walk-in pantry and a mudroom are convenient additions, and the utility room enjoys abundant cabinetry and a laundry sink.

This is a very nice plan that hits many of my desired marks, but if I could change it I would 1) change the entrance into the 2nd/3rd bedroom hall from foyer to off the Great Room; the coat closet and power room are fine off the foyer, I just don't like easy front door access to the bedrooms. 2) The access to the Master walk-in closet would not be through the bathroom; I've never liked the idea of interrupting someone's private time to access the closet, even a spouse's.3) Add a partial wall and/or a knee wall between the dining room and kitchen to allow for the creation of a beverage bar, thus freeing up the already limited counterspace. And lastly, 4) I'd love to figure out a way for basement and/or bonus room stairs.
